Seeing 'until tomorrow' all over Instagram? Here's what it means

With many Americans staying home and social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, some people on Instagram have found a lighter way to pass the time and have fun to distract from the seriousness of the situation.

Enter "until tomorrow."

The latest "challenge" consists of people posting embarrassing photos of themselves and captioning them "until tomorrow" with no other context.

When someone likes the photo, the original poster is supposed to direct message the person telling them to post their own embarrassing photo and leave it on their profile for a day, or ... until tomorrow.

As expected, this has caused confusion and drawn ire.

On Instagram, #untiltomorrow has more than 280,000 posts with people sharing images of baby pictures, funny costumes and bad selfies. This USA TODAY reporter would embed a few in this story, but they'll probably be gone by tomorrow.
