NFL WR Ryan Switzer says 9-month-old son is in the hospital and tested positive for COVID-19

Current Cleveland Browns and former Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Switzer reached out to the Twitterverse seeking prayers for his 9-month-old son, who is in the hospital and has been diagnosed as positive for COVID-19.

“I’m asking everyone that this tweet comes across to please just take a second and say a prayer for our son Christian. He’s 9 months and currently in the hospital after he woke up in his blood. He’s Covid positive,” Switzer wrote on Twitter.

“The doctors are still trying to find the source of the bleeding. He’s been getting fluids and medicine as he waits for a CT scan. They’ve made us aware that he needs a blood transfusion. Praying that he avoids surgery. Only 1 parent is allowed in the room so my wife is with him.”

Switzer spent last season on the Browns’ practice squad.

Best wishes to Switzer, his family, and especially his baby boy for a swift and complete recovery.

This COVID-19 pandemic is terrifying and this is just another example of how scary it remains.
