Heidi Klum finally tested for coronavirus, is practicing social distancing with her family

Heidi Klum was finally able to get her hands on a coronavirus test after feeling ill and leaving a taping of "America's Got Talent" earlier this week.

As she waits for the results, Klum said she and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, who is also feeling ill, are practicing social distancing to prevent each other from getting sicker.

The supermodel posted a short video on Instagram Sunday of her and Kaulitz sharing a kiss between a glass door separating them.

"Like many of you, I also have been sick all week and, unfortunately, my husband who returned from his tour a couple of days ago is also feeling ill. To be safe, we are staying apart until we get the results of our Coronavirus tests (that we were finally able to get today) back. We don’t want to spread germs and risk others getting sicker... even each other," Klum said in the  post.

She added: "As much as I want to embrace him and kiss him, it is more important to do the right thing and not spread further."

As the coronavirus pandemic continues on, many people are practicing social distancing — meaning staying at least six feet apart from each other to prevent the virus from spreading.

Klum noted that these are strange times and it's important to protect the people you love.

"Social distancing is what we all need to do right now to be responsible citizens of the world. We are all in this together and it is up to us to protect our loved ones, and our neighbors and our communities," she wrote. " I see all the beautiful things people are doing for each other all over the globe and that gives me hope! Sending all of you love and positivity and healing vibes… together we can get through this but we need to be proactive so that we can all have a bright and healthy future."

Klum updated followers on her health in the comments section of a hopeful cartoon she shared to Instagram Monday, featuring the planet Earth in a hospital bed, with other planets holding a "Get Well Soon" sign outside a window.

The "America's Got Talent" judge shared good news about her husband: "Tom is ok . his (test) came back negative . I get my results on Thursday ."

Klum also told fans in the comments that she's "feeling better.... much better ... I just don't want to spread the virus further if I have it ...that's all ..." She also said she "waited for one week to find a test"

Please listen to the officials and stay at home if you can and physically distance yourself from other people… especially if you are not feeling well. On Friday, Klum explained  why she was absent from "AGT" saying she's been feeling sick.

"It started all with like a chill, feeling feverish, cough, runny nose. I’m just not feeling good, so that’s why I’ve stayed home, to not infect any other people," Klum said while laying in bed. "I hope it’s just a cold. I would love to do the corona test, but there just isn’t one here.I tried with two different doctors and I just can’t get one."

Klum's struggles to get a clear diagnosis appear to highlight the national shortage of tests for COVID-19. As U.S. testing ramps up, some labs have run short on the kits and components needed to determine whether samples taken from ailing patients confirm the presence of the novel coronavirus.
